Flood and drain trays are designed for hydroponic flood and drain systems.

The Flood and drain tray is regularly flooded with hydroponic nutrient-enriched water.

The growing media soaks up this solution, then the excess solution drains out and air is drawn down and around the plants roots.

Flooding and draining is done with the aid of a water pump inside the reservoir and a timer to regulate how often it floods the tray.
