Lions Mane Fruiting Time Lapse

Guide to Side Fruiting Grow Kit - Instructions

Front Fruiting Mushroom Growing Guide:

Growing mushrooms with a Mushroom front-fruiting mushroom kit is a simple and easy process, however it’s important to follow the instructions exactly to ensure you get the highest yields and best results from your mushroom grow kit.

What you will need:

1. A Mushroom Spray and Grow Mushroom Kit
2. A spray bottle, preferably filled with cooled boiled water
3. A terrarium or green house (optional)

PLEASE NOTE: As our mushroom grow kits are fresh and ready to grow, they will begin fruiting if stored improperly. If you are not planning on using your grow kits straight away or you have purchased them as a gift, remove the grow bag from the box and store the kit in the refrigerator to stem their growth until you are ready to use them.

Step 1:

Remove the grow kit bag from your ‘Mushroom Spray and Grow’ kit box and confirm the sticker on the label of the grow bag inside is the variety you have
purchased. With the grow bag removed, cut out the perforated area on the front of the grow kit box. Return the grow bag to the box ensuring the folded plastic of
the grow bag is to the rear of the box and not covering the perforated area.

Step 2:

Using a clean, sharp knife, cut an ‘X’ into the plastic of the grow bag from each corner of the perforated area, exposing the mushroom substrate.

Without touching the substrate, peel the plastic away from the substrate and then loosely fold it back down, this provides protection for the substrate, while keeping the moisture in the bag so your mushrooms can grow.

Step 3:

Lightly spray the outer plastic layer of the grow kit 1-3 times daily to ensure the
mushrooms have enough moisture to continue growing. Avoid spraying directly
on the substrate as you may wash away the mycelium. Make sure to use cooled,
boiled water (do not spray hot or boiling water onto your kit) to ensure there are
minimal contaminants to increase your yields. Your mushrooms can take up to six
weeks before you see signs of them fruiting, so be patient!

Step 4:
Place your mushrooms in a well ventilated indoor area, such as your laundry or
bathroom. Unlike other plants, mushrooms breathe oxygen and expel CO2, just like
we do, so make sure they are getting enough oxygen! Mushrooms don’t require
much light to grow, enough light for you to read a book will be suffi cient. Try to keep
them at a relatively stable temperature at around 18 - 20°C for best results.

Your mushrooms will be ready to harvest within 5 - 14 days, depending on their
growing conditions. When harvesting, don’t leave any mushrooms behind as these
can contaminate your next flush. Harvest them all at once and remove any small
bits of mushroom left on the substrate. Allow the mushroom kit to rest for 1 - 2 weeks
before beginning your next flush by misting the grow kit. Well looked after mushroom kits which are in a great environment can yield up to 8 flushes.

Frequently asked questions:

Where do I keep my Mushroom Kit?

Keep your kit in a well ventilated area free from excessive light. Enough light to read a
book will be sufficient. Make sure there is a good supply of oxyge

My Mushroom block has dried out, what do i do?

After 2 or 3 flushes, you mushrooms may have drained the water from your grow kit and may need rehydrating. Do this by soaking the block submerged in clean, cold water for 5-12 hours. Placing the block submerged in a bowl over night in your refrigerator will be sufficient to rehydrate your block.

There is dust falling off my Mushroom, what is it?

If you leave your mushrooms to grow too long before harvesting, they will begin dropping their spores. Mushrooms are at their tastiest before they begin dropping spores, so if you see your kit doing this, harvest them immediately.

Will these kits introduce pathogens into my home?

All of our mushroom kits are made in a highly controlled Class-100 food laboratory, and certificates of sterilisation are available upon request. We guarantee there are no foreign pathogens in our mushroom kits.

How many mushrooms do I get from a grow kit?

Provided you follow the instructions exactly and provide your mushrooms with everything they need to be successful, you should get a minimum of 1-1.5kg of delicious fresh mushrooms from your first couple of yields.

Please note this culture is sold with our Mushroom Spawn and Cultures sale agreement. By purchasing you agree to this agreement.
